A Day of Wonders

When I picked up my friend and asked where we should go, he said, "Let's walk the Goat Track and stretch our legs."

That's not all we stretched.

We witnessed a wonder: a male Common Green Darner producing sperm and then moving the packet to his secondary genitalia.
The very same dragonfly species that has taunted me all fall finally rewarded me with one of the most exciting things I've ever witnessed.

And I'm not exaggerating.

Even my friend Greg, who is not an insect fan like me, was impressed, although he said it was . . . well . . . kind of weird.

Weird, wild, and wonderful!
