Fragile Forktails tussel,
toads mate, unfurl
fertilized eggs
in ribboning curls,
Citrine Forktails
do-si-do
among sedge stems,
Tree Swallows scissor
the bowl of sky:
spring bursts ahead,
pulling me along
but I move
at a millipede's pace
taking in the view.
