Lucy Loves Her Quilt
Even as outside air warms and mosquitoes swarm, as plants buds and flower and trees push leaves, as daylight savings time approaches, Lucy whines and pleads for her heat. When I assent, she settles like an old lady, within a whisker's breath, curled on her art quilt.She gazes at waves of warmth I can't see and becomes a work of art herself.
