Snowdrops!

Journalist Anne Raver calls snowdrops "adorable" with "leaf-like extensions like donkey ears over drooping flowers."

Abbo's Alley runs a carpet of snowdrops now, strewn among last week's snow patches in shady spots. Their lovely elongated bell-shaped flowers, smaller than my first knuckle, sport green green necks and clappers, reminiscent of the heavy diner china from my youth or my logo camp shirt.

One of the few flowers deer ignore, they act like little lanterns, lighting the way to spring.
