Near Misses
Some years ago, I heard writing teacher Peter Elbow talk about student writing. His response was often something like, "This is awful, but I love it anyway."
After a shopping spree at Lowe's and lunch, I shot 289 photographs, most of them from underneath plants, an angle my friend Greg says is just about impossible. He's right, and most of the shots are duds.
