What is it about raindrops

that holds such fascination?

I don't know.

All I know is that every time it rains, I stick my face into the nearest leaf or blade of grass or evergreen needle or blossom and look, not with my own eyes -- weak as they are -- but through the lens of my camera in macro mode.

I am always astounded by what I find.

Today, jewels shone everywhere: in the tiny bugs drawn to the pansy centers, in the gold and purple saturated hues, in the stripes and pleats of wet petals, and in the "business end" parts of the pansy face.

Tonight I shall dream pansies.
